The boards of Crocus and Erickson credit unions are proposing that our member-owned financial institutions unite to form a single, stronger credit union focused on the needs of our members, communities and employees.
With the Approval of Members
Our new $180-million credit union will begin operating on January 1, 2018 with two branches in Brandon and one in Erickson • It will remain a locally-owned financial co-operative, governed by a democratically-elected board of directors • There will be no job losses or salary reductions • Our communities can expect the same or enhanced support in the form of sponsorships, donations, scholarships, volunteer hours and gifts in kind • No branches will close as a result of this amalgamation.
We have the opportunity to share expertise in areas that have been putting increasingly greater demands on our resources: compliance with a growing list of complex regulations and procedures; and technology we use to deliver services today’s members expect of us.
Being able to share those and other costs will significantly benefit our organizations. Creating an environment — a business model — of sharing expertise and resources, of collectively seeking opportunities, are what we both require as we position ourselves for the future.
